ASSOCIATE INTERN, CLIENT SERVICES
POSITION SCOPE: The Associate Intern will support the small, dynamic staff of VOZ Advisors, Inc. (VOZ) on project deliverables as well as administrative needs. The position serves as the firm’s primary researcher and supports project leaders in project planning and execution.
We are looking for someone who is interested in learning more about the health care industry and, to the extent possible, the role of patient, consumer, and professional groups in development and use of various treatments. Associate Interns will be exposed to corporations and non-profit organizations. They must be a self-starter, able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing assignments, and working with time-sensitive and confidential material.
The position reports to a firm associate but involves contact with and work for other staff in this office as well as outside associates. Some client contact is also involved. This is a paid position.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Assists project leaders with information gathering, and presentation and materials development to provide clients with specified deliverables. Tasks include:
— Routinely performs web searches to gather background information on pipeline and approved treatments, therapeutic areas, and disease conditions for new business pitches and client projects
— Conducts qualitative interviews
— Develops and maintains databases
— Coordinates logistics for conferences, client events, and firm under the supervision of a project lead
— Develops materials such as Q&As, fact sheets, post-meeting evaluation surveys, and other materials as requested by clients or determined in the scope of work outlined in a proposal
— Drafts and edits content for patient educational materials and newsletter articles
● Handles meeting follow-up details, such as drafting thank you notes, assembling meeting evaluations, and gathering of out-of-pocket expenses.
● Develops organizational profiles of patient and professional organizations, and biographic profiles of advocacy group representatives and key opinion leaders.
● Participates in client teleconferences and meetings to take notes and present research.
● Provide clerical support, including filing and assisting in project administrative needs
CORE COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE:
● Excellent verbal and written communication in a highly professional manner
● Excellent web-searching and research skills
● Detail-oriented
● Previous experience in administrative support
● Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
● Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
● Language skills a big plus
● Previous experience in, or basic knowledge of the pharmaceutical and/or non-profit health care advocacy sectors, with basic understanding of scientific and medical terminology
