With a background in patient-focused leadership, we’re excited to welcome Helen Klein to the VOZ team. Helen brings a thoughtful perspective on how strong systems can help mission-driven work thrive. We sat down with Helen to learn more about what drew her to VOZ, the experience she brings, and a few of her favorite things outside work.

What drew you to VOZ Advisors?

VOZ found me, which was exciting! I came from a patient-centered advertising agency, where our focus was on putting patients first. I worked with pharmaceutical companies to create websites for their therapies and better understand what patients need for support. That included patient advocacy, medication-tracking apps, and helping people connect with communities facing similar health challenges.

VOZ’s mission of working with companies to meaningfully integrate patient experiences and perspectives into therapies development really resonated with me. The opportunity to ensure that patient voices are heard and reflected in the decisions that shape healthcare felt like a natural fit.

What perspective do you hope to bring to VOZ?

I’m looking forward to helping ensure that the infrastructure at VOZ evolves alongside the organization. Growth is exciting! For me, this means bringing in the right processes, systems, and financial discipline, without adding unnecessary bureaucracy or losing the entrepreneurial, collaborative qualities that have made VOZ successful.

What has stood out to you about the VOZ culture so far?

The culture is wonderful. Claudia and Ronnie have built a genuinely supportive place to work. I’ve also been impressed by how many strong processes are in place.

There is always opportunity to make a meaningful impact, whether that’s through clearer KPIs or thoughtful improvements to utilization. But the goal isn’t change for its own sake—it’s finding practical ways to improve while protecting the culture.

How can finance and operations help advance a mission-driven organization?

Finance should enable the mission and not operate separately from it. Strong financial and operational foundations give an organization the ability to invest in its people, serve clients well, and continue doing meaningful work over the long term. I’m excited to learn from the team, partner with business development where I can be helpful, and support VOZ as it introduces more organizations to the value of patient engagement.
