Elise Ambrose

Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Marketing

Elise has over 15 years’ experience in medical research and leading marketing and sales initiatives in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Her background in education, advocacy, and biotech provides a unique perspective, which allows her to bring patient needs to the forefront of every decision. Elise leads the strategic partnerships and marketing initiatives at VOZ as a member of the senior management team.

Prior to joining VOZ, Elise was the Associate Vice President of Business Development at the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation where she led strategic collaborations with biotech and pharmaceutical companies across education, advocacy, and research.  Elise was a key driver in the growth of a patient database and biorepository and a new clinical trial initiative within the Foundation. Prior to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, Elise led the marketing and sales initiatives at Adarza Biosystems, a biotech in St. Louis. She has five years of patient care and education experience gained through the Cardinal Glennon Poison Control Center where she managed drug interaction cases and mild poison exposures.

In her graduate studies, Elise focused on natural killer cells and harnessing the body’s immune system to combat cancer. She often uses her training at St. Louis University Medical School and bench-to-bedside experience to help guide decisions, keeping the patient at the forefront of emerging treatments.

Elise has experience with multiple therapeutic areas including oncology, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), diabetes, various viruses, and muscular dystrophy. Elise holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL, a Marketing Strategy Certificate from Cornell University, and a PhD in Pathology from St. Louis University Medical School in St. Louis, MO.
